To put a Youtube video onto Blogger
Step one = Open and sign into your Youtube and Blogger accounts.
Step two = Find the Youtube video that you wish to put into your Blogger account.
Step three = Click on the "Embed" button
Step four = Copy the code that comes up
Step five = Select "new post" in blogger
Step six = Fill in a title for your video and then paste the script in and press "publish post"

Tutorial Eight A
To put a Flickr badge onto Blogger (beta)
Step one = Open Flickr and Blogger and sign into both.
Step two = In Flickr scroll to the bottom and under "help" click on "sitemap"
Step three = Then under the "you" heading find and click on where it says "add a Flickr badge to your website"
Step four = To show a flash badge (which is much more interesting in my opinion!) click on "show a flash badge"
Step five = Click "Next: Choose content"
Step six = Either choose the photos you wish to include or choose the "all of your photos and videos" option.
Step seven = Choose "next: colours
Step eight = You can now choose the colours for the background.
Step nine = When you are happy with the colours click on "Next: Preview & get code"
Step ten = Here you can preview what your badge will look like. If you are happy with it you now need to highlight all of the text in the box and copy it.
Step eleven = Now go to Blogger and click on "dashboard" then "layout"
Step twelve = Click "add a page element"
Step thirteen = Click the "HTML/ Javascript" option and click "add to blog"
Step fourteen = Fill in a title and Under "content" paste in the script from Flickr and press "save changes"
You may now view the blog and see your photo badge =)

I chose to look at Facebook for my online community. The address for Facebook is www.facebook.com
The focus of this community is to connect you to your friends so that you can keep up to date with their news, look at videos and photos and also send instant messages. Facebook is known as a social networking website.
Facebook allows you to customise your profile, giving you the option to change your privacy settings as well as choose who you become friends with. People can contribute by posting status updates, posting on friends walls (depending on privacy) viewing friends photos and videos (depending on privacy) as well as sharing their own. Also adding and accepting friend requests.
People choose to connect to facebook because it is an easy way to stay in touch with others. Another reason people connect is to 'follow the trends' many people have a facebook account so it is often talked about and used by poeple everyday.

I think that Wii gaming has appeal to people who are not traditional video game players beacause it involves moving around and using different parts of the body so it is a lot more active than traditional video games.
It is relevant to Occuaptional Therapy because it can be used not only to provide pleasure as a meaningful occupation but it can also improve peoples functioning by improving things such as balance, coordination, fine motor skills, range of motion, strength, endurance and also give them exercise.

Brain storming ideas for our short film really helped us in considering everybody's thoughts and wishes. Since we already had an idea about what we wanted to do and how it would all fit in together it made the actual filming quite short.
We did not need to re-take any shots, this was partly because we discussed exactly what we would do before filming.

Tutorial Three
Blogger offers many services, which include being able to connecting with your friends, share your thoughts and experiences, upload and share videos and photos and meet new people. Another blogging site is LiveJournal.

“A new technology is rarely superior to an old one in every feature” This statement in relation to digital camera technology could mean that the newer devices that are released are not always better than older models and that many people would prefer to stick to the older ones (they may find the older ones more reliable)
Some advantages of digital cameras over film based cameras are that with digital cameras you can delete images that you are unhappy with and you don't always have to pay for film. Disadvantages of digital cameras over film cameras are that you may take shots that are more carefully thought about rather than lots of pointless ones and also you cannot accidentally delete the wrong photograph which can happen on digital cameras.
Images can be transferred to computers, t.vs cell phones, and many other devices, they can be stored on devices such as external hard-drives and flash drives and can be edited and changed on computers with programs such as photoshop then uploaded to websites.
Images are constantly being captured by web cameras, cell phones, cameras etc. Ethical issues that may arrise from this is people may be captured in images that they don't want anybody to see or somebody's work may be captured and distributed that they don't want others to see and is copyright.
Photographs of peoples homes would assist in Occupational Therapy because it is easier to see things rather than have them explained. So they may be useful for housing modification application forms etc.. Also clients may benefit by step by step photographic instructions to carry out tasks.

Information technology is defined by the New Zealand pocket oxford dictionary (second edition) as a "branch of technology concerned with the movement and storage of information, especially using computers, telecommunications, etc" (Deverson, 1997)
Information technology is constantly used by many people around the world. We rely on it to keep in touch with friends and family as well as for entertainment and work purposes.
Growing up in a generation that has had significant exposure to technology from a young age I feel fairly confident about using many technological devices such as cell phones and computers.
In my fieldwork experiences I have seen IT used in Occupational Therapy practice by storing patient notes in computers, the therapists using cell phones to contact each other and store dates in, I also saw gaming consoles being used for clients therapy as it is a meaningful activity for many people and it can improve hand function/ coordination etc..
Ethical implications that arise from capturing, sharing and transferring of information via IT devices are copyright issues or 'stealing other people's work' It is easy for people who are not the original authors to claim content as their own or as somebody elses which takes away the rights of the author or creater (Wikipedia)
Also images/ information that identifies people when released to the puplic without the permission of the individual is a big ethical issue often seen.

The elements of informed consents include informing the client of the nature of the treatment, possible alternative treatments, and the potential risks and benefits of the treatment. It is important to have a great understanding of IT and the ethical issues involved because it will help us abide by the law and protect relationships with others. It also makes your work more professional if you stick to the law and keep your work ethical.

Purpose
The purpose of this blog is to meet the objectives of a paper at tech called Participation in Occupation 1
